The amount of pressure will be adjusted to suit you and your condition. This is best determined by communicating your level of comfort or discomfort to your therapist during the treatment.  The firmness of the treatment varies from person to person. Generally speaking, an area that is aggravated may feel a little sore when massaged but in a good way.

It is common to feel a little sore the next day after a massage.  The soreness often only lasts a day and many clients who have regular massages don’t experience this anymore.

Above all we want you to be comfortable as this is your time. Usual practice is to have you in your underwear and we keep you covered with a towel/s at all times during the massage. If you prefer to remain fully clothed that is absolutely no problem, just advise me when you book your initial treatment.) Remove obstructive items such as necklaces, dangly earrings, watches and bracelets if possible.  Ladies it is preferable to wear a normal bra and not a sports bra for your treatment.

No.  This is a specialty area we prefer to leave for other therapists.

Your treatment takes place on a comfortable, fully adjustable massage table in a quiet relaxing room.  Any parts of your body not being treated will be covered with towels.

The treatment room has access to bathroom facilities and reverse cycle air-conditioning for your comfort. You can bring your own music using blue tooth or usb connections or you can have your treatment in silence.

If you have not had a professional remedial massage before, it’s normal to feel a little apprehensive.  It is important to let your terapist know if you experience any pain or discomfort so that your treatment can be adjusted.

Blood pressure usually drops when getting a massage as you relax so make sure you take your time getting off the massage table.

It is advised to have a drink of water after your massage.  This helps toxins to flush from your body as they are often released from your muscles during the massage.

You may feel instant relief after the treatment and have a better range of motion. However, expect the best results in 2 to 3 days.

You may feel a little sore the next day, similar to how you feel after doing a big workout.  If you feel sore longer than 3 days, please call us.

Most clients feel relief and improvement on the first treatment but for those with long standing conditions improvement may require 2 to 3 treatments.

If you have a particular muscle tension or chronic pain, a remedial massage may be the best option for you.  Your remedial massage therapist will assess where you need treatment and what may be causing the pain.  While both use flow to string techniques from one to the next Swedish massage is more about relaxation rather than pain relief or increasing your range of motion.

Straight after an injury.  Wait at least 48 hours after hurting yourself before getting a massage.  There are several medical conditions that would make massage inappropriate.  That’s why we take your medical history on your first visit.  Any massage therapist will ask general health questions to rule out any contraindications to massage.  Make sure you tell us about any health problems or medications you’re taking.

If you are under a doctor’s care, we recommend you ask your doctor for a doctor’s referral before treatment. This isn’t common though.  There are many types of massage that can be tailored to suit your needs and the outcomes you want.
